Create DVDs To Include All Your Video Clips And Images

By Sylvia Adolvana

Create DVDs to add all your images and videos on one DVD and then send the DVD to your relatives and friends. You may have friends who live overseas or interstate and the only way you can communicate with each other is by sending a DVD once every few months.

This will help keep your friends and relatives informed about the latest information about your family.

It seems the DVD has replaced the written letter. You don’t need to describe the birth of your new baby, just put the video and images on DVD and send it to your friends and relatives.

It is easy to create your DVDs on your computer these days. After shooting your images and video, just put them on to your computer and start editing.

Copyright rules

Many new computers come with programs that help you create DVDs. Just because you can copy almost any DVD out there does not mean you should. There are some that you cannot copy, but there are others that you can upload to your computer and then burn on a DVD recordable.

This is not what this software was designed to do. You should know that if you do that, you are guilty of copyright infringement, and if you get caught you will be in a lot of trouble. However, the same rules do not apply for your own movies and video clips.

Many digital cameras come with the capacity to take short video clips. I know that mine takes them, and they can be up to ten minutes if I have enough memory.

Create DVDs to share video clips

These clips are often of my daughter, and I want to share them with family and friends. Some do not have a computer, so I want to create DVDs to share with them. This way, they can just put the DVD into their player and view the videos on their televisions.

There are no computers required. I can create DVDs that are just one clip, or I can put all of the clips I have on my computer onto a DVD for the sake of simplicity.

Add a little splash to your DVDs

There are programs that can help create DVDs with a little splash. They can help you edit your material so that it is not just a series of short clips.

You may be able to create DVDs that have background music and text if you want to. If you want to have even more fun, you can use this software to make a movie for the amusement of your family and friends.

Those who do not have a computer will appreciate that they can watch it on DVD, no matter what it is that you are sending them.

Need a lot of memory and a fast processor

In order to create DVDs on your home computer, you have to have one with a lot of memory and one that has a fast processor. It will take some time to burn the DVDs, so you may want to set them to burn when you are going to do something else.

This might be all you need to pry yourself from the computer to do some housework, at least, that works for me.

Make sure you follow the instructions when you go to create DVDs so that you know they are going to come out right, and that there are no glitches or problems when someone goes to watch them.

You can always watch the DVD before you send it out to make sure that the DVD works and it is watchable. If there are any problems, then you can fix them on your computer.

Adobe Premiere Pro

The program I use for video editing and creating DVDs is Adobe Premiere Pro. This is professional level software where you can add music, special effects, titles and make a real movie out of your video clips. This software is quite expensive, but there is the consummer version Adobe Premiere Elements and is much cheaper. You can create DVDs and simple menus with a scene index using Adobe Premiere Elements.

It is easy to keep your freinds and relatives informed about all the family news by sending a DVD every now and then. You may include a video of your little girls birthday party or the birth of a newborn or a new house you have moved into. All these can added as video and images when you create DVDs.
