Digital Binoculars With Camera And Video

By Cedric B Georges

"Oh, you should have seen it…" These words often begin a story meant to captivate friends and family. But more often than not, the tale does not portray the image clearly. Everyone has also heard the saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words."

This explains why birdwatchers and other outdoor enthusiasts will often carry a camera in addition to binoculars and binocular spotting equipment. But with digital binoculars, this is no longer necessary. By combining a digital camera with a pair of binoculars, one can capture views with the push of a button. Now, instead of trying to explain your latest find, you can show the pictures instead.

Digital Binoculars With A High Megapixel Count For Better Images

With so many different types of digital binoculars available, how can you find a set to meet your needs? Consider the following: if clear, not pixilated images are important to you, then choose a model with a high megapixel count. Lower resolution models, usually with less than one megapixel, capture images that are on par with the first generation of digital cameras and camera phones.

Recording live action? Then choose a model with video capture capability. While in video mode, many versions are capable of processing up to 30 seconds of video, prior to activating the camera. This practically eliminates the "missed shot" as the camera records the stored information.

Connect To Your PC

Additionally, the ideal digital binoculars should be light weight, have expandable memory, a long battery life, and provide easy connectivity to one’s PC (for saving or editing pictures and / or video).

Towards the high end products, manufacturers have built the camera into the binocular optical components. This ensures what you see is what you will get a picture of. This also allows the camera to focus at much closer objects than other non-collimated models. Most models provide an LCD screen for you to preview the image before saving it.

A Video Camera In Your Digital Binoculars

This becomes useful in video mode, where the binoculars are basically transformed into a video camera. Otherwise, in camera mode, the preview screen ensures that your images are clear and focused, and worthy of saving. There’s nothing worse than taking a picture that you can’t even identify!

Digital camera binoculars are improving daily. Granted, digital binoculars are a blend of two technologies. There are, no doubt, better binoculars and better digital cameras sold as separate items. But for pure convenience, this combination is hard to beat. Imagine constantly viewing through a digital camera, searching for that ’right’ moment.

Even today’s video recorders are considered bulky by some, and uncomfortable to operate. But for comfort and ease of use, not to mention the ergonomics of the design, nothing comes close to these binoculars. Look, press, save. Simple!

More Binoculars Facts....

It is always great when springtime rolls around and people are able to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and nature. The flowers are in bloom and the earth is waking up from its long dormant nap of winter.

It is a time to enjoy the blossoming life and see all that there is to see with the new born animals and older animals venturing out. The best way to observe these creatures is through the telescopic lenses of binoculars. You can find a pair of these miraculous wonders in many sporting good stores and online.

Any sporting enthusiast or bird watcher can attest that there is one piece of equipment that is absolutely essential and that is a binocular. Binoculars are optical devices used to look at objects far away.

They are not as powerful as a telescope but they do the job pretty effectively. They allow the sporting and bird watching enthusiast to get an up close view of animals without putting themselves or the animal in danger.
