Digital Camera Images Are Easy To Manipulate And Share

By Louis Myrandle

The 35mm film camera was once king, yet today that title goes to the digital camera. This type of camera has allowed individuals to do things with digital camera images that were not possible beforehand. While the idea for this camera was basically conceived in the 1970s, a handheld format did not appear on the market until 1986.

At that time, it was still a rather primitive concept and cannot really be compared to the cameras used for digital art and photographs today. Today, these cameras make it easy for anyone to take digital camera images, store them on a media device, print them from their computers and archive the images for later use.

Record And Transfer Images To A Mac Or PC

While the camera that came on the market in 1986 was a digital camera of sorts, the first true camera that was able to record digital images didn’t become available until 1990. This was the Dycam camera and it was able to connect to either a PC or the Mac to transfer images.

About a year later, the Kodak Company marked the first of their formats of digital cameras. This was the beginning of a new wave of photographic technology. People realized that there was an easier way to shoot, store and retrieve their images.

Professional Digital SLR Cameras

Today, the digital SLR cameras are truly amazing. These professional level cameras are perfect for capturing arts photography, travel photography, stock photography, nature photography and much, much more.

The digital camera is not the only device that is able to record digital images. Many people own a cell phone, blackberry, PDA or even a laptop computer, which can take either a still photograph or digital camera images.

Taking Videos With A Digital Camera

There are also digital cameras that have photography video capabilities. Some offer the ability to take videos and there are camcorders that can take still images. Technology has made it easy for individuals to take digital photos of individuals or any other subject, at anytime they wish.

Whether you own a digital camera or another device that can take digital images, you most likely love the ability that you have to take, print and store your digital camera images.

It is far less taxing to review your options and manipulate a digital image on the computer, than with traditional photographic equipment in a darkroom. This is most likely why many people have opted to trade in their traditional cameras for digital cameras.
