Digital Video Recorder To Watch Programs At Your Convenience

Digital video recorder can be a part of a digital cable
package, to entertain your family during the quieter
moments in the family living room. You can set up the
digital recorder to record programs when you do not
have time to watch them, and then watch them another
time at your pleasure.
These days of unpredictable working hours, one cannot
sit infront of the cable tv and watch a program at a
set time. You may be at work, cooking in the kitchen,
entertaining guests or spending a night out with the
family. When you have a quiet hour, your leisure time,
you can review your options, sit down and watch your
favorite recorded program.
Digital Cable Package
A year ago my husband and I signed up for digital cable.
Our new digital cable package came with cable, phone
service, and high-speed Internet. When we got our digital
cable box, we were happy to find out that it was a digital
video recorder. I had heard a lot about TiVo, but I
did not want to pay the subscription price to have the
service. Though a digital video recorder works a little
differently than TiVo, it does everything that I needed
to do.
Our digital video recorder is part of my cable box.
When there is something that I want to watch at a later
date, all I have to do is hit record on my guide. My
digital video recorder will record that episode only,
or it can record every episode in that time slot if
I wish.
Programmable Features Of A Digital Video Recorder
It also has the option of sending that show to the
VCR. I can save something for as long as I need, or
I can have the machine erase it within a certain amount
of time. All I have to do is specify what I wanted to
do and it does it for me.
The first time we got a pay-per-view movie with our
digital cable service, my husband tried to record it
with a digital video recorder. We were not exactly surprised
when it didn’t work. However, it does record just about
anything else.
Right now my digital video recorder is almost full.
This means I have to go back in and erase all of the
things I don’t want, or move them all to VCR tape. I
would like to get a DVD recorder, so that I can record
the shows to DVD rather than VHS.
Pause Live Television
Perhaps the best feature of the digital video recorder
is that I can pause live television. This means if the
phone rings and I need to take the call, or if I have
to leave the room for any reason, I can come back and
pick up where I left off. My digital video recorder
also allows me to rewind live TV if I have missed something.
I’m very happy that I have it, and very glad that we
signed up for the service. It takes very little effort
to use my digital video recorder, and it gives me control
over my television instead of the television controlling
me. It’s worth its weight in gold.
Two Programs At The Same Time
Especially when I want to watch two programs and they
are on at the same time. Now I just record one program
and watch it later. Sometimes there is a clash on family
choice of programs so we set up the digital video recorder
and watch the program later. I have set the recorder
to record a program when I am out for the night. When
we arrive home, we can watch our favourite shows the
next day.
Leading a busy life does not mean you can miss programs
you like to watch, especially when you want to know
what happened next. There are times when we set up the
digital video recorder to record a program and it records
a different program. Either because the program schedule
has been changed, the program start was delayed or we
set up the recording incorrectly, although this is quite
rare.
When we celebrate New Years Eve, we like to go out
to the club and celebrate New Year with all our friends
and family, and we like to set up to record the countdown
to the new year. The next day,we can watch the countdown
to the new year, while we are recovering from the night
before. We always like to see how New Years eve is celebrated
all around the world.
