DVD Burner Software And Making Backup Copies

By Sylvia Adolvana

DVD burner software are problematic when you want to copy some of your DVDs that have movies on them and are copyright protected. For example, you may have paid for these DVDs and they are no longer available at the store, your copies are almost worn out and you don’t want to lose your favourite movies.

The solution is to make a backup copy of each of the DVDs by using DVD burner software. Some software do not allow you to make copies due to piracy concerns, so prior to buying DVD burning software, ensure that the software can make backup copies.

As long as you are not making hundreds of DVDs and selling them to make a profit, then there shouldn’t be a problem. You are making back up copies of your own dvds that are no longer available for purchasing.

Finding dvd burner software can be a little bit more difficult than you might think. It is not that there isn’t dvd burning software available. There are literally thousands of programs that will work as a software dvd burner.

The problem is that the music and movie industries do not want you to be able to find quality dvd burner programs. Almost any piece of dvd player software that you find will work, but there are many dvd burner programs that have been disabled.

Copy Protection

They have been designed in such a way that they will not be able to bypass the copy protection on movies. This means that, even if you own a movie, you will not be able to make a backup copy of it using your dvd burner software. This makes the software almost completely useless!

When I first bought a software dvd burner, I was quite excited to use it. You see, a lot of my dvds were pretty old, and some of them had scratches on them. I figured that I could use my dvd burner software to create a backup copy of some of the more damaged ones.

Out of Print Movies

I also wanted to use the dvd burner software to get copies of movies that were out of print from friends. I figured that, if no one was releasing the movies and trying to make money off of them, there was nothing wrong with burning a copy for my own personal use.

That is why I was so disappointed when I tried to use the dvd burner software that I had bought. I paid quite a bit of money for the program – more than $50 dollars as I recall – yet it was completely worthless.

Online Copyright Protection

Not only would the dvd burner software not burn most of the newer movies that I owned, but it would not even burn copies of older ones! It would actually try to log onto the Internet to make sure that a movie was not copyrighted before burning a backup of it for me! I found this quite irritating.

Ironically, I only found a functional dvd burner on a free software downloads site. Although the software cost me nothing at all, it worked much better than the one that I paid money for.

It took me a while to find a good dvd burner software program, but once I did, burning dvds became almost effortless.

Search for DVD Burner Software

You can find a good dvd burning program if you search on Google. Make sure you read all the terms and conditions of use of the software and it allows you to do what you want to do, before you download the dvd burner software.

Then you can try to make back up copies of some of your old DVDs that are almost warn out and see if the new software works for you. If it doesn’t work, keep searching on Google until you find a program that does.

Before you pay for any dvd burner software, make sure you read the terms and conditions of use of the software and ensure the software allows you to make backup copies of DVDs you already own.

Only pay when there is a written guarantee that the software will work and you will get a full refund if the software is unable to make copies.
