Monocular Compact Lens
By Cedric B Georges
Have you ever been outside and needed to see something
far off but did not have a set of binoculars with you.
Binoculars can be cumbersome and expensive to carry
around for everyday use but a monocular, on the other
hand, can be just what you need to see things far away
in the distance.
They are easily transportable and can fit in your purse,
backpack or even coat pocket. You can take them everywhere
you need to go. The best part is that they really are
not that expensive.
No one is saying that a monocular is for every use.
Their small barrel size does comes with a drawback,
namely that their magnification capabilities will not
be as strong as telescope binoculars or other larger
optical systems.
A Monocular Is Small And Easy To Carry Around
But for what they sacrifice in magnification they make
up for in sheer diminutive size. Most people elect to
work with monoculars because they do not have the room
for a set of bulky binoculars or want to carry around
a telescope.
Do not let magnification fool you. The larger the magnification
capacity, such as with marine binoculars or even the
standard bird watching binocular, the larger the barrel
will have to be and you may find yourself sacrificing
size for magnification. Another area where bigger is
not always better, at least where monoculars are concerned,
is the optic lens size. Larger may seem better but in
this case you want to maximize your optical quality
rather than increase the optical lens size.
Using A Monocular Lens For Indoors And Outdoors
Most monoculars for everyday use do not have to be
waterproof. If you intend to be using them primarily
for outdoor use, such as bird watching, then you will
want to be very sure that it is waterproof. Something
else to keep in mind when using monoculars is how far
your eye can be from the optical lens and still get
to see everything in the field of vision. This is very
important if you wear glasses. Optics Planet recommends
a minimum of 14mm to account for the thickness of your
glasses.
Most people look at the size of a monocular and immediately
discard its usefulness. You already have read how extremely
transportable they are. Monoculars can fit inside your
pocket! But there is another use that you may not be
familiar with. You can flip it over and use the small
end as a way to magnify small print, which is especially
useful for the visually impaired.
So the next time you are out and about you should give
monoculars a chance to prove their worth to you. You
will not be disappointed.

More Binoculars Facts....
There are many sports out there for you to become involved
with and to enjoy all year long. But you do not have
to be a sporting enthusiast with a weapon in order to
enjoy nature.
When springtime rolls around and the world begins to
turn green, you can get outside and check out the new
baby animals as they enter the world. But you want to
stay away from them because a mad mama is the last thing
you want chasing you through the woods. The solution
is a pair of binoculars to observe the animals from
a distance.
It is a time to enjoy the blossoming life and see all
that there is to see with the new born animals and older
animals venturing out. The best way to observe these
creatures is through the telescopic lenses of binoculars.
You can find a pair of these miraculous wonders in many
sporting good stores and online.
Any sporting enthusiast or bird watcher can attest
that there is one piece of equipment that is absolutely
essential and that is a binocular. Binoculars are optical
devices used to look at objects far away.
They are not as powerful as a telescope but they do
the job pretty effectively. They allow the sporting
and bird watching enthusiast to get an up close view
of animals without putting themselves or the animal
in danger.
