Photos Of People Can Be Used Creatively

By Cedric B Georges

Photos of people is a common reason to take digital photographs. You may go to a birthday party or any other social event and you want to make a recording of the event by taking a series of digital images.

Digital photography has given us ample ways to preserve memories and specific moments in time. To photograph your child from a baby to a full grown teenager and beyond.

To capture those moments. When a child outgrows her clothes. She graduates with a University degree. Starts her own family. Takes her own images.

All can be done with a digital camera and the images burned to a CD or your hard drive and cherished forever.

Cameras and more cameras

There are digital cameras, disposable cameras, underwater cameras, traditional film cameras, video cameras and many more. While each piece of new equipment seems more complicated than the last and might cost more, the quality continues to improve. With time, costs are coming down.

Quite honestly, I own a digital camera, a video camera and always buy disposable film cameras. I tend to take disposable cameras on vacations with me more often and have found that they take amazing photos. However, when it comes to taking photos of people, disposable cameras don't have the zooming technology that other cameras have.

Photo Collages

Around my house, I have collages full of photos of people that have importance in my life. Most of the collages contain my daughter's pictures, but I have lots of photos of people all over my house. Many of them have been turned into black and white photos.

One of my favorite things to do with photos of people is to turn them into something decorative. I have plenty of pictures in frames scattered all over the house. I have collages everywhere. I've been known to give collages to others with photos already placed in them.

But, I love to do different things with photos. It is wonderful to take some photos and turn them into holiday decorations.

Child Portraits on cards and ornaments

One December, I had my daughter get dressed in a white jacket and pants. I also had found a shimmering gold halo that fit her perfectly.

I took her outside when the sun was just setting, and wrapped a string of white Christmas lights around her. Once they were plugged in, she glowed like an angel. It made a wonderful photo and I took that photo and turned it into Christmas cards and ornaments for friends and family.

Everyone commented on how wonderful of an idea that had been. Taking creative photos of people and turning them into other objects or decorations is a great way to not only cherish them but to share them with others.

Sharing images online

There are several websites that allow you to send photos of people and get them made into various items. My personal favorite is Winkflash, but there are many to choose from. I've gotten photo albums printed through them for very reasonable prices and there are some other really unique and creative choices as well.

Doing something creative and out of the ordinary with various photos of people is such a wonderful way to carry their smiles with you all day. Having a photo on a coffee mug allows you to see them all day as well as on calendars or a mouse pad.

There are so many things to do with your cherished photos - find them and use them. It will be very worth your time.

Capture the moment in time

Use these photos to relive the cherished memories of specific moments in time. You can use photos and video. Place the photos around the house, share them around the internet with your relatives and friends. The same with your videos. Movement and sound in video makes it all come alive!
