Sports Pictures Of Glorious Sporting Moments

By George Goodall Jnr

Sports pictures highlight the athletic prowess of an athlete on the sporting field. I do not have the time to sit for hours on end to capture that one moment where an athlete takes a glorious catch on the athletic field. This is why, I place framed sporting images on the walls of my home, taken by professional photographers of momentous sporting events in history.

These images may include athletes running in Olympic events and winning gold, capturing the best moment of a local hero in a local baseball team and many other sports events. I love seeing people putting a total effort to achieve the unachievable, capturing the moment in a crystal clear image on my wall.

A framed image of superhuman effort, is what I use to motivate myself to make my own achievements in life. When someone tells me it cannot be done, time to give up, I say it is time to make a superhuman effort to achieve the unachievable, just like the athletes in sports pictures.

Sports Photos On My Walls

Some of my friends make fun of me for all of the sports pictures on my wall. I am not the only sports fan in my circle of friends, but I am the only one who uses sports photos as a primary motif in my decorative scheme.

We all wear lots of sports apparel, and we all have different favorite teams. I have a Cubs baseball cap, while my best friend Bill is a big fan of the 76ers. I am the only one, however, who has a sports photo on practically every wall, and I constantly find myself having to explain why.

Showing Athletes At Their Best

The interesting thing about my sports pictures is that they are not necessarily photos of my favorite athletes. A lot of the sports pictures I have, in fact, are images of people I do not particularly care about.

I like them as artistic photography, not as a sign of my fandom. The great thing about sports images is that they show people at their finest. When people are involved in sports, they are putting everything that they have into winning their game.

Capturing A Moment Of Glory

A sports picture can really capture the way that someone looks in a moment of glory. The sports pictures, you see, are there to provide me with inspiration.

Although I am relatively successful in life right now, I have not always been. Only a few years ago, in fact, I was kind of a bum. I was working for little more than minimum wage in a dead-end job despite an extensive college education. To rally myself and work towards the position that I now occupy took everything that I had.

My Source Of Inspiration To Move Ahead In My Career

Although I wasn’t initially inspired by sports pictures, they do capture the spirit of inspiration that brought me back from a life of mediocrity. I fell in love with the feeling of straining every nerve, desperately striving to achieve all of my goals. That is what the sports pictures mean to me.

I suppose that looking at pictures sports is somewhat like watching war movies in some ways. There is the desperate and all important struggle against the enemy, and the everyday heroism. Unlike war, however, sports rarely kills.

Ideally, sports is done as a contest of goodwill between two outstanding competitors. This is why I like sports pictures more than war photographs. Sports represents the best in human nature, while war represents the worst.

A New Fan Wall Of Images Honoring My Favorite Sporting Heroes

After pressure from my family, I have decided to create a fan wall, of sports pictures I have taken of sporting heroes with my family members. When we go to sporting events, we like to take images with my digital camera, with some of my heroes. Most of the images are surrounded with sports picture frames and signed by the athletes themselves.

Many visitors to my home, like to look at the sports images on the wall, and ask me about the newest images. I have thousands of images, many of them in photo albums and I have put my best ones and the ones most requested by family members, up on the fan wall of my home.

I am grateful for the athletes who participate in my images, most of them know me by name, so they can trust me and they know that I may include their images on my fan wall. Some of them have even come to my home, to view all my sports pictures.
