The Drama With Serious Realism

Acting out dramas has been around for a long time. This
was first started by the Greeks and the first meaning
for the word "drama" meant action. Plays of
ancient times were more theatrically exaggerated than
today, and there was a lot more drama comedy.
Now dramas are much more serious, and the drama field
is considered one of the more realistic forms of acting.
The concept of acting out a story may have originated
with the Greeks. They are the most famous civilization
for the form of dramatic acting that is most commonly
known today. In Greek theater, there were three different
types of drama acting.
Comedy Was Any Story With A Happy Ending
The first was comedy, which was any story with a happy
ending, usually meaning that the characters didn’t die
in the play. This was actually quite entertaining for
the Greeks of the day. The second form of drama was
tragedy.
This, of course, meant that one or more of the characters
in the story died. This was one of the most popular
forms of drama. The third type of drama was satire.
Satirical plays were usually parodies of current political
or otherwise popular figures. Those plays were probably
similar to the Saturday Night Live show of today.
Different Countries Added Their Own Flair
The influence of drama had a far-reaching impact; much
farther than just about anything else that came from
Greece. When drama reached other countries, over time
they each added their own particular flair to it.
In Europe, things such as opera, mysteries, and the
typical formula for Shakespearian plays were invented.
Places such as Japan and India developed the concept
of combining acting and dance together.
Realism Is Much Better
Modern drama has many different aspects. They can range
from musicals, to theatrical productions, to drama comedy,
to TV drama, movies dramas, and more. When drama was
first created, the acting was much more exaggerated,
probably because it was hard for everyone to see what
was going on.
Now, realism is considered better, and actors who can
be the most realistic are given the highest awards.
It was about eighty years ago that these awards were
first given, and they are still going strong.
Many Schools Offering Drama Courses
The drama actors that are the best in the business
make much more money than nearly anyone else in the
world. This is a testament to the fact that actors and
actresses are highly revered in the world. Most schools
offer drama programs, and there are many fine acting
schools across the country devoted to developing acting
skills.
It is quite evident that acting and drama have become
very important in modern day society, yet from nearly
the beginning of time, dramas have always been
important.
Usually this is because people love to see characters
in situations that are not normal for the average person.
The industry has run away with this, and taken drama
to a whole new level.
