Video Editing Computers For The Final Edit Of Your Video Movie

By Nikos L Maxwell

Video editing computers can be quite demanding. You need to have enough power, including memory, to edit videos in real time.

Once the video is created in the video camera and placed on the video editing computer, then you can begin to edit bits out of the video. For example, you can delete errant voices, fix up strange lighting, add special effects, animation, cool music and animated titles.

You can do all this in today's’ video editing computers. You can use either a Mac or PC as there is dedicated video editing software for both computer communities. Final Cut Pro is the one used on Macs and Adobe Premiere Pro is one of the more popular video editing software programs used on PCs.

There is a larger range of video editing software when using PCs.

Only a few years ago, video editing computers were very specialized things. Special effects editing could only be done on the very most sophisticated computers, and they had to be especially designed for that purpose.

It is funny how quickly things change. Nowadays, almost any high-powered PC can work as a video editing computer. It is true that some of the highest end video editing done in Hollywood needs to be done on special computers, but most of it can actually be done on today’s cutting-edge home computers.

As a matter of fact, it is not even easy to figure out what the best video editing computer is nowadays. Back in the day, all of the cutting-edge video computer editing was done on Amigas.

Apples Became Industry Leader in Video Editing

After that, Apples became the video editing computers of choice. Nowadays, however, it is not so simple. A lot of video editing professional still prefer Apples. I have a friend who works at a video production company, doing computers video editing for a variety of independent clients, and he swears by Apples.

I have heard, however, that this opinion is no longer universal. A lot of people use video editing PC Computers, and the number is growing.

This can make shopping for video editing computers pretty difficult. In general, people fall on one side or the other of the PC/Mac debate. What side they fall on depends usually on what they have worked with.

Larger Range Of Video Editing Software For PCs

The big advantage to PCs is that there’s a wider variety of video editing software available. It is true that most high end video editing computer programs are made for Apples as well as PCs, but there are some specialized programs that you can only find for PC.

Personally, I like to use both kinds of video editing computers. There is so much compatibility between Apple and PC nowadays that you can usually afford to have the best of both worlds.

Of course, I will usually handle an individual project all on one computer or the other, but it is still nice to be able to choose. That way, if I have clients come in with a strong opinion about video editing computers, I can defer to their wishes.

I use Final Cut Pro on the Apple Mac and Adobe Premier Pro on the PC. It is good to use two different pieces of software on different computers so that I can be ready to adapt to the needs of my clients.

The clients may have Apple Mac computers themselves and want to see the end result on their Apple Mac, so it would be ideal to use Apple Mac video editing computers. Sometimes deferring to customer requirements can be the difference in getting the project and not getting the project.

I have kept my clients happy by using both Apple Mac and PC video editing computers.
